Business consulting on Long Island, starting with one process that loses time.

Led by Rico Rojas, founder and operator, from Melville.

rTech Digital Consulting is an operations and workflow practice for owner-run Long Island businesses, roughly five to fifty people, industry-agnostic. The question we answer is narrow and useful: where is a week actually going, and what is the smallest change that gives some of it back?

Most consulting arrives with a framework and leaves a deck. This does not. We pick one recurring process, follow it through the people and systems it touches, and write down what we found: how the work runs today, a short list of what to simplify, and one next step somebody on your team owns. Whether AI belongs anywhere in it is a finding, not the premise.

The work is done in person when it helps. rTech operates from Melville, so a working session at your office is a drive rather than a screen share, and the people who actually run the process are in the room for it.

Where the time goes

The week is rarely lost in one place.

A process that costs a business real hours almost never does it dramatically. It does it in hand-offs, in rework, and in waiting.

The usual suspects on Long Island look like this: a quote that takes an evening because the numbers live in four places; month-end reporting that eats two days while three people rebuild the same spreadsheet; an intake nobody gets to until Thursday; follow-up that depends on one person remembering; a standing meeting that exists because nobody trusts the status anywhere else.

Each of those is a workflow problem with an owner, a clock, and a fix, and the first job is telling them apart. Some are sequencing, and the answer is moving one step earlier in the week. Some are custody, and the answer is one shared file instead of five copies. Some are genuinely a candidate for software or AI, and that is where AI consulting on Long Island takes over.

How it works

A free conversation, then one workflow mapped end to end.

Every engagement starts the same way and stops wherever it stops being useful. The full ladder is on the services page.

01 / FIRST

First conversation | free

About fifteen minutes on where the time is going in your week. It exists to decide whether an engagement is the responsible next move. Nothing is created and nothing is pitched.

Who starts here

An owner who can name the week's worst hour but not its cause. Fifteen minutes usually settles whether that is a process problem or a staffing one, and nobody spends money to find out.

02 / ASSESS

AI Assessment | $2,000 flat

One recurring workflow mapped end to end: a current-state map, a fit-and-limits read, the control points named, and a recommended next step with an owner and a stated boundary. The record is yours to keep either way.

What gets mapped

Inputs, hand-offs, decisions, tools, delays, and who holds final authority. The map is written so your own staff can use it without rTech in the room.

03 / TEND

AI Concierge | recurring retainer, scoped per engagement

The ongoing operating relationship after an assessment: questions surfaced, changes assessed, materials kept usable, decisions kept with your team. Priced from the assessment's scope and quoted in writing before anything recurs.

Why it fits

A business that has just changed how a process runs and now has a question every week. A standing lane for those questions keeps the staff running it themselves.

04 / FOCUSED

Defined workflow work

Survey, prove, install, tend. Map one bounded process, build the smallest working path with explicit stop points, fit it to the real environment, then inspect how it is actually used.

Where it fits

A process whose shape is already understood and whose next step is a build rather than another look. Scoped from the assessment, quoted in writing.

05 / KITS

Workflow kits

Reusable one-job workflows with visible inputs, ordinary files, and human review. Fitted to your approved inputs and controls, never treated as a substitute for judgment about fit. Review the available kits.

Who it fits

An office that needs meeting minutes tracked or documents chased, not a custom project. It starts from the closest kit and never pays to invent one.

Why local

Watching the work happen beats hearing it described.

The office is at 7 Skyview Pl. in Melville, NY 11747, near enough to the Nassau and Suffolk line that both counties are a normal morning.

  • On site when it helpsWest into Nassau that means Hicksville, Garden City, Mineola, Massapequa, and Farmingdale. East through Suffolk it means Huntington, Hauppauge, Smithtown, Bay Shore, Patchogue, and Port Jefferson.
  • Long Island businesses, not a templateContractors and home services, professional offices, agencies, distributors, and family operations: the Island's actual mix.
  • Your people in the roomThe person who does the work knows where it breaks. They are part of the assessment, not the subject of it.
  • Your accounts stay yoursRecommendations are vendor-agnostic. rTech does not hold your keys and does not take over your billing.
  • Extend and enhance, never replaceThe point is getting your team's time back from the monotonous parts of the job.

Questions

What owners ask before they engage.

Two worked examples of this in writing: the Melville office where month-end reporting eats two full days and what to expect in the first 30 days.

  • What kind of business consulting does rTech do?Operations and workflow consulting for owner-run companies. The unit of work is one recurring process, not a company-wide strategy review: we follow the work through its inputs, hand-offs, decisions, tools, and delays, then say what should be simplified, what should stay exactly as it is, and where software or AI earns a place. The people who run the process keep the judgment calls.
  • How does a business consulting engagement start? With a free conversation of about fifteen minutes, which exists only to decide whether an engagement is the responsible next move. If it is, the starting engagement is an AI Assessment at $2,000 flat for one recurring workflow, and it leaves a written record your team keeps whether or not any further work follows.
  • Do you serve Nassau County and Suffolk County?Yes. rTech Digital Consulting LLC works from 7 Skyview Pl., Melville, NY 11747, close enough to the county line that both counties are an ordinary morning: Hicksville, Garden City, Mineola, Massapequa, and Farmingdale to the west, Huntington, Hauppauge, Smithtown, Bay Shore, Patchogue, and Port Jefferson to the east.
  • Is this a strategy deck or a software project?Neither. The deliverable is a current-state map of one workflow, a fit-and-limits read, the control points named on paper, and one recommended next step with an owner and a stated boundary. Recommendations are vendor-agnostic and run on whatever you already own, and rTech never holds your keys or your billing.
  • Will this reduce my team? No. rTech extends and enhances a team. The work we look to hand off is the repetitive part nobody was hired for: retyping the same figures in three systems, chasing a document, rebuilding the same quote. Your people get that time back and keep the approvals, the judgment, and the release authority.

Bring one process that repeats, stalls, or depends on somebody's memory.
